On August 7, a meeting was held dedicated to future cooperation between the Faculty of Computer Science and the Poltava Institute of Pig Breeding and Agro-Industrial Production at the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS).

During the meeting, the participants discussed the current state of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, considered innovative methods of genomic breeding and biotechnology aimed at improving existing and creating new pig breeds. Particular attention was paid to the issues of storing and processing analytical data necessary for the effective operation of these methods. During the discussions, the participants exchanged views on improving existing systems, and also identified areas for the development of new, more modern and effective approaches to data storage and analysis.

Of particular interest were the issues of creating new information systems for collecting and analyzing methodological data on animals that would meet modern requirements and ensure convenience and efficiency in work. The participants discussed possible ways to develop cooperation between the Scientific Research Institute of Animal Husbandry and AI of Karazin University and the Poltava Institute of Pig Breeding, outlining specific areas for further joint research and projects.

During the visit, representatives of ESI and AI also had the opportunity to visit the institute’s museum, where they were given a fascinating tour and lecture on the history of the institute, its development and modern achievements in the field of pig breeding and agro-industrial production.

The meeting gave impetus to deepening cooperation between scientific institutions of the two cities, which promises new prospects for the development of Ukraine’s agro-industrial complex.
