On May 27–28, the regional stage of the men’s basketball competition was held as part of the sports project “Side by Side: All-Ukrainian Student Leagues.” The team of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University finished in 5th place in the tournament.

The Karazin team included Maksym Polevych (School of Medicine), Dmytro Demskyi (School of Biology), Oleksandr Voronkov (Educational and Scientific Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence), Dmytro Dolia (Educational and Scientific Institute of Ecology, Green Energy and Sustainable Development), Oleksandr Samoilenko (Educational and Scientific Institute of Chemistry), and Kostiantyn Zhydkov (School of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism).

The team was coached and prepared for the competition by Oleksandr Ishchenko, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Basic Military Training, Physical Education and Sports.
