In May-June 2025, on the initiative of the Head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine and with the active participation of the Institute of Special Communications and Information Protection of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, a professional development course entitled “Higher School of Cryptology” was successfully conducted.

Leading scientists and specialists in the field of cryptographic information protection were involved in the implementation of the course. The participants were military personnel and employees of the State Special Communications Service, whose activities are directly related to ensuring cybersecurity.

Dr. Ivan Dmytrovych Gorbenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences and professor, made a significant contribution to the course on a voluntary basis, which significantly improved the scientific and practical level of the educational process. The results of the course showed an increase in the level of professional training of students in modern and post-quantum cryptography and national cryptographic standards.

Given the high results and positive feedback from participants, it was decided to continue the project and hold another course in November–December 2025. As part of the project’s continuation, a series of lectures and practical classes were held with the participation of Professor I. D. Gorbenko and the head of the Department of Cybersecurity of Information Systems, Networks, and Technologies of the Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Marina Vitalievna Esina.

An important step in the development of scientific cooperation was the signing on December 25, 2025, of an agreement on research work between V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and JSC “Institute of Information Technologies” which provides for research in the field of post-quantum cryptographic transformations and protocols.

The department staff expresses its sincere gratitude to the Institute of Special Communications and Information Protection of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic National Technical University for its fruitful cooperation, support of educational and scientific initiatives, and contribution to the development of cryptological education and cybersecurity in Ukraine.
